Hillcrest Rising Stars
We are located in a community hall in a lovely residential area, close to Woodmansterne stations and Coulsdon town station.
We offer a safe, caring, fun and stimulating learning environment for children ages 24 months to five years.
We have dedicated nursery spaces for different age groups, each room reflects seven areas of learning as prescribed in the Early Years Foundation Stage and is accessible to every child.
We are opened 50 weeks a year, closed for bank holidays and during Christmas week and new year.
We offer full and half day sessions from 8am - 3pm term time only.
Toddler Area
24 months - 3 years
Children participate in free flow activities, which are based on the children interests. Children are encouraged to choose new resources at will and to tidy up after playing which helps to develop children’s self-confidence and their independence. We have a reading corner where children can sit in a group and listen to stories and an outdoor play area.
Preschool Area
3 - 5 years
Our preschool area is free flow thereby enabling children to choose which area or room they will wish to play in, this helps to improve their social skills. Children are encouraged to express themselves freely in choosing what activity they will like. Children have free open access to the playground / mini garden area. Our resources/ equipment’s are easily accessible and children are encouraged to choose new resources as well as tidy up after use, which helps in the children’s independence and self-confidence development.
We support all children to prepare them for their move from day nursery to school. Through our observation of children learning through play we are able to introduce child and adult lead activities that follow the interest of individual children linking to the seven areas of learning.
Pre-School Graduation
